Beginnings

Collage allows me to take beautiful pieces of original vintage paper and ephemera and encapsulate them in works of art. I am inspired by the rich color and delicate markings that occur though time, mingled with the intriguing sense of mystery and nostalgia that shroud each piece. By adding pastel, acrylic paint, charcoal and ink I can enhance the subtle aura of days gone by. Each collage evokes a story and awakens experiences not far from the viewers past. I hope you will enjoy looking carefully for hidden memories and cherished moments; take a trip back to when days were different.

Ginger Jar

I enjoy working with this natural medium as it gives depth and substance to my artwork.

Each overlay of gold leaf transforms the picture into a unique one of a kind treasure. I especially appreciate how the metal is always changing depending on the glow of the light that illuminates the piece. When viewing the painting from different angles the light will reveal subtle changes in color and luminosity.

The combination of simple form and clean lines coupled with carefully placed gold leaf creates a harmonious painting that stimulates the senses to feel the warmth of the earth and the depth of the metals within it. Please take the time to experience the hidden treasures of my “Ginger Jar”.
