Collage allows me to take beautiful pieces of vintage paper and ephemera and encapsulate them in works of art. I am inspired by the rich colors of aged inks and paper. There is an intriguing sense of mystery that shrouds each piece I use. By adding pastel, acrylic paint, charcoal and ink, I can enhance the subtle aura of days gone by. Each collage evokes a story and awakens experiences not far from the viewer’s past, allowing them to look carefully for hidden memories and cherished moments and whisking them away to when days were different.
