Kathy Cameron
Kathy Cameron was born in Kimberly B.C. and lived in a variety of places before finally settling in Victoria. Until very recently, Kathy has spent most of her time in raising three wonderful daughters. Now, with the encouragement of her husband, she has the gift of time to commit to her life long love of the arts. Her artistic interests, which began with the nurturing support of gifted high school teachers, has now become a passion rekindled. Kathy’s natural curiosity and desire to experiment with different mediums have expanded her repertoire to include: collage, acrylic, watercolor and gold leaf.
Kathy at work
I feel so fortunate to be immersed in such an artistically rich community as Victoria. I have a strong desire to learn new techniques and to experiment with different mediums in order to create magic. I am inspired by my experiences, the people I have met, a wealth of memories and the richness of different cultures. There is so much wonder and beauty everywhere I look. I open my heart and mind to these influences, waiting and listening for a painting to be revealed.
Kathy attended the University of Victoria completing courses in a Bachelor of Arts program as well as Child and Youth Care. At Camosun College she also completed the Community Support Worker Certificate. She presently works as an educational assistant in the Sooke School District. She continues to attend many workshops and thrives on learning and expanding her artistic horizons.
